The Final of the St Michael’s Cup took place on the evening of 9th September.
This is a Triples completion open to all, organised by HMPC. It raises money for St Michael’s Hospice, and this was the first holding of the event post COVID.
Following the League matches and semi-finals, the Final was between The Bouillabaisses and The Ale Trailers. Neither team had won the Cup before, so a new name on the Trophy was guaranteed. Both teams demonstrated the skills which had got them to the Final, but it was Bouillabaisses who took control of the match, with exceptional pointing, shooting and teamwork, and they went on to win convincingly.
The Trophy was presented by Felicity Wheeler, Fundraising Manager at St. Michael’s Hospice.
Congratulations to Sue, Maureen and Dennis.
The Final of this year’s St Michael’s Cup takes place at the Pierhead on Friday 9th September 6pm.
The Bouillabaisses will be taking on The Ale Trailers.
All welcome to come along and support the teams.
With the nights now drawing in, please note that from Tue 6 September evening sessions at the Pierhead will start 5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Some good news for the Club……
Charles Stewart was part of the Triples teams that won the National Veterans Triples Trophy in Leicester on 23/24 July.
The team was also made up of Alan Swift (Wetherby PC) and Richard Burrow (Leeds PC)
Charles is also the Regional President for Yorkshire Petanque.
(His involvement at Regional level, both organisationally and competitively, explains why Charles is not a frequent visitor to Club sessions at the Pierhead, and despite living close by!)
Thanks to Brenda and Sue for organising a great evening.
Congratulations to Dorothy for winning the melee.
We are holding our traditional Bastille Day Melee Thursday 14/07/22 6pm at the Pierhead.
Please bring food and drink to share.
French attire is optional.
Maintenance work has been completed at Oatlands, and evening sessions are now up and running there at 6pm every Thursday, until further notice.

Wed 2pm PIERHEAD Thu 6pm OATLANDS Fri 12 noon PIERHEAD Sun 11am PIERHEAD
The new terrain at Oatlands was officially opened on 19th June, 2022 with Harrogate hosting the annual match against Leeds for the Roy Cotton Trophy.
The weather was good, and following a series of competitive games, Leeds retained the trophy, after which the players and spectators enjoyed a barbecue and some social games.
With the larger terrain and clubhouse at Oatlands, this was the first time HMPC had been in a position to host the event.
Due to maintenance work at Oatlands, all evening sessions, including Thursday 2nd June, will be held at the Pierhead until further notice.
Evening sessions are starting up again on Thursday 2nd June from 6pm at our new terrain at Oatlands.
Also starting up again on Tuesday 7th June are the Tuesday evening sessions, from 6pm at The Pierhead.
Same times every week until further notice.
Hope you can join us.
